The Pace Center would like to thank the undergraduate student body for investing in civic engagement opportunities through the recent referendum. A student Pace Steering Committee (PSC) has been formed with a total of a dozen members representing the USG and  each sub-organization that falls under the Pace umbrella: Student Volunteers Council (SVC), Community House (CH), Pace Council for Civic Values (PCCV), Breakout, and Internships.

The PSC will meet over the summer and throughout the 2009-10 academic year on a biweekly basis to allocate the funds responsibly in order to best engage the Princeton University undergraduate student body in meaningful civic engagement opportunities both on and off campus.

During the most recent PSC meeting held on Thursday, May 28, 2009, the PSC met with members of the USG and began discussions to establish its mission statement and objectives. Each sub-organization shared its priorities with the committee. These priorities focused on sustainable programs that range from launching new initiatives to strengthening established services for effective resource use in the future. The PSC plans to form subcommittees to raise awareness of existing civic engagement opportunities and large-scale service events, and to create a new webpage that will allow the student body to see the impact of their investment.

As the PSC continues to meet, its main priority is to maintain constant dialogue with the University community and keep the student body informed on a regular basis. The USG is committed to ensuring that all of these funds are used as efficiently as possible in hopes of enabling student service initiatives aimed at helping those in need.
