General Tips for Funding your Project...

Solicit as many sources as soon as possible.

The Projects Board is a lender of last resort. The more sources you have solicited and received replies from, the better your chances at receiving the amount you requested. Furthermore, the clearer your budget, the easier it is for the Board to make decisions in your favor. Thus, the Projects Board clearly evaluates each propo sal not only by its appeal to the undergraduate body, but also the clarity of its fundraising and budget information.

Flyers are the best method of advertisement.
They're effective and copies can be made in the USG Office for FREE!

Be sure to check out The ODUS Student Organization Page on the Department of Student Life Homepage - it is extremly helpful for organizing your event!

Funding and Event Planning Hints & Reminders

  1. Your group is responsible for all policies on the ODUS website. Please review policies carefully before coming to the Projects Board Meetings (The ODUS Student Organization Page)
  2. Contact the Projects Board Chairs if you any questions. It is in your best interest to talk to the Chairs before coming to meeting. They can help you prep for the meeting and give you a rough indication of how much money you should expect to receive.
  3. You must fill out an Events Registration form at least 5 business days before the date of the event.
  4. Remember to fill out the orange Officers Authorization Form (you can pick up a copy at the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students). If it is not filled out, neither the Projects Board nor the ODUS can grant you money.
  5. If you do not have a West College 541-xxxx account, your group is not eligible for Projects Board funding.
  6. When drafting your budget, please use exact quotes. In the case when exact quotes are not applicable (such as Public Safety officers), please use your best estimate.
  7. Capital expenditures will not be funded.
  8. The food portion of your budget will not be funded by the USG. However, the ODUS, the Venture Fund, and the Woodrow Wilson School can fund the food portion of the budget.
  9. Strictly food events will not funded.
  10. No retroactive requests will be honored.
  11. There is a cap on how much the Projects Board will fund a speaker.
  12. There is a cap on how much the Projects Board will fund advertisements in the Daily Princetonian.
  13. If you are booking a DJ or a speaker or any other type of entertainer, you must have a contract approved by Dean Dunne.
