What the budget cuts mean for undergraduates...

In a time of financial turmoil, it is of the utmost importance that the University administration remains as transparent as possible in their process of making significant budget cuts across campus. Similarly, we want to give students the opportunity to engage directly with top University officials who are leading the budget cuts, in hopes of elucidating the process and helping students understand how the cuts will affect their undergraduate experience.

In keeping with this philosophy, this Monday, October 12th at 8:30pm in McCosh 10, the USG will be hosting a town hall meeting with students and administrators in order to help educate undergraduates about the effects of the economic recession on Princeton. Present at the meeting will be Provost Eisgruber and Executive Vice President Burstein - two very senior officials in the Princeton administration. The discussion will include specific ways the decrease in the endowment has affected the operating budget and the financial cuts that have been made. If you're wondering how anything from financial aid to athletics to dining options will change, you are encouraged to come to the meeting. Feel free to come with questions of your own that can be addressed in a question-and-answer period during the session. This is a great chance for students not only to show the administration that we care about the economic turmoil, but also to educate ourselves for the changes ahead.
