Want to make a difference in the class government? Below are the available positions that are currently up for election for the Class of 2013 in the Fall 2009 election. Class GovernmentPresidentThe Class President leads the class government body and is a full member of the University Honor Committee. His/her duties are to communicate the efforts of the class government through emails addressed to his/her entire class; plan the time, location, and general schedule of class government meetings; work with fellow officers to organize class-wide events/programs; and take executive responsibility for all decisions/actions taken by the class government. Vice PresidentThe Vice President works closely with the president and other class government officers to promote issues in the interest of their peers. In the event that the position of president becomes vacant, the Vice President shall be appointed President. Being Class Vice President also includes having the responsibility and creativity to lead a special class project. TreasurerThe Treasurer handles all financial matters pertaining to his/her class. He or she is responsible for all monetary transactions, maintaining his or her class file folder in the Office of the Dean of Undergraduates. The Treasurer ensures that class money is spent wisely. He or she also fills out the proper vouchers so that vendors are paid in a timely manner. SecretaryThe Class Secretary is responsible for facilitating communication between officers through taking minutes at meetings, sending emails, etc. The Class Secretary may initiate contact with alumni, perform some social duties, and support the efforts of other class officers. Social ChairThe responsibilities of the Social Chair involve sponsoring study breaks, organizing class trips, coordinating class social events and generally facilitating class cohesion; to this end, s/he also shares in the general responsibilities of class government |
