Sustainability Working GroupOur mission is to encourage students to consciously engage in sustainable behaviors by enacting a culture change, supporting student environmental groups, and setting a good example as a USG. To that end, we will be working this semester to create a student sustainability pledge and a multi-year USG Sustainability Plan. Prox on Nassau Working GroupThis working group investigates the history of the initiative and will determine the feasibility of using TigerCard on Nassau street. The group is currently considering expanding Paw Points and a potential opt-in program. Textbook Prices Working GroupOur mission is to lower textbook prices for the student body in two ways. First, we want to expand TigerTrade and make it easier for students to buy and sell books from each other. Second, we hope to make course listings available in advance of the start of each term to enable students to buy from inexpensive online retailers if they so choose. Civic Engagement Working GroupThis working group promotes student participation in civic engagement activities through providing support and publicity for new and current civic engagement opportunities. Academic Calendar Reform Working GroupThis working group addresses the potential to reform the current academic calendar, including the issue of having fall semester final examinations before winter break. Mental Health Services Working GroupOur mission is to increase mental health awareness, decrease the stigma associated with counseling services and to work towards creating a healthier and more open campus environment Alcohol Policy / Public Safety Relations Working GroupThe USG-Alcohol Working Group was created to explore the ways in which the student government could be involved with the issue of alcohol and high-risk drinking on campus. One of the group's goals is to ensure that students are informed about the dangers of alcohol and the University policies concerning drinking. Another is to make sure that the administration hears student input when formulating policy. Princeton on a Shoestring Working GroupThis working group aims to provide a guide for students to find ways to save money and find the best deals on and off campus. Professor Accountability Working GroupThis working group addresses student concern over faculty responsiveness and accountability, especially in terms of feedback on written work. In addition, the group aims to improve the relations between department heads and student department representatives. Pass/D/Fail Policy Working GroupWe are working towards proposing and negotiating for a new PDF policy that better serves the interests of the student body and better promotes the goals of academic exploration and work management. Constitution and Voting Reform Working GroupWe are working on revising and clarifying the content of our elections packet in hopes of reducing complications in future elections. Analysis of Princetonian Attitudes CommitteeThis committee conducts research to obtain quantitative indicators of student well-being so that the USG can make more informed policy decisions. U-Cost Saving Working GroupThis working group addresses and proposes means by which the University community can lower costs in light of the current financial climate. |
