Student Groups Recognition Committee Home PDF  | Print |
In an effort to make the student group recognition process more effective, in Decemeber of 2001, the USG Senate passed an amendment to the USG Constitution instating a Student Group Recognition Committee. This committee, chaired by the USG Student Groups Liason, serves as the body to which interested students apply in order to create new student groups.
In considering applications, the Student Group Recognition Committee Considers the following criteria in no particular order:

01 the future viability of the proposed group, as determined by potential conflict with University rules and regulations, including those that govern student group funding;

02the future viability of the proposed group, as determined by the existence of similar groups that draw on potentially overlapping sections of the student body;

03the future viability of the proposed group, as determined by the quantification of explicitly stated interest by members of the student body;

04 the quality of responses given during the Committee's inquiry;

05 the definitional clarity of the objectives and goals of the proposed group; and

06 any other circumstances associated with the application that the Committee deems relevant.

In order to submit a completed application for your prospective student group, you must complete the following three forms:

1. SGRC Application
2. Petition
3. Student Group Constitution
