Our mission is to serve, to represent, and to advocate for the student body, both individually and collectively, all while proactively listening, celebrating diversity, and strengthening an inclusive campus community.
We envision a dynamic community of care. We seek to celebrate students’ diverse ideas and backgrounds, and to support individual and community growth, including through sometimes challenging and uncomfortable dialogue. For us, to lead is to serve; we value active listening, communication, and trust, all towards meaningful transparency. We aspire towards a student body in which students are not only empowered but eager to serve their communities, especially in times of adversity. Above all, we strive towards a community of care: care for ourselves, for each other, and for our community as a whole.

Senate Policy Priorities

Advocate for expanded, higher quality of care at CPS, starting with advocating for a public report of the current status of CPS for transparency and accountability
Emphasize the importance of a holistic and systemic approach to mental health—beyond CPS
Advocate for specialized mental health care resources, such as for students going through disciplinary processes and for students seeking gender-affirming services

Support student groups as they seek to build community and revitalize activities in a post-restrictions campus life
Develop and increase access to a comprehensive resource guide to facilitate first-year students’ transition to Princeton
Build longer-term partnerships with food vendors in town to expand students’ dining options in an equitable way

Establish the DEI Committee and Chair roles as core (permanent) positions in USG that recognize the unique challenges faced by students of diverse backgrounds and intersections of identities
Support students with disabilities (physical, psychological, developmental) by expanding relevant resources and accommodations
Elevate student concerns surrounding issues of sexual misconduct
Advocate to expand financial aid, including by permanently removing the expected student contribution

Continue working to develop offerings for minors, to complement concentrations and certificates and allow students to pursue diverse academic interests
Support meaningful programming to inform and celebrate students through the process of concentration declaration
Expand access to academic accommodations
Advocate for greater flexibility in leave of absence policies

Embed sustainability as a core principle in USG and University programming
Scale up opportunities to reduce waste, including through the annual move-out and resale program for dorm items
Advocate for accessible sustainable options and practices in student life, particularly housing and dining

Increase opportunities to gather and engage with student input, such as by hosting pop-up USG tables and by setting up feedback access points in key, popular locations
Continue to bridge students and administrative decision-makers, including through USG Town Halls
Establish a streamlined process for ensuring student representation on University decision-making committees
