Winter 2009 USG Elections
Officers - Elections
Written by Peter Dunbar
Monday, 16 November 2009 22:36
Dear Fellow Undergraduates,

We are excited to announce the upcoming USG Elections, and we encourage you to run! The USG will hold elections for USG Executive Committee positions (USG President, Vice President, Treasurer, Academics Chair, Campus and Community Affairs Chair, Undergraduate Life Chair) and Senate positions (two senators per class). A detailed list of these positions is attached. Anyone interested in running for a position must attend ONE of the candidates' open houses (information below) and must complete the candidate registration forms by the date specified below.

The open houses will be held at 8 p.m. on this Thursday and Friday in McCosh 60. They will promote involvement in the USG, describe specific positions in the USG, and cover important elections rules. The Candidate Handbook is attached to this email and also is available online at http://usg.princeton.edu/candidates. The candidate registration process includes submitting the Candidate Registration Form and the Petition for USG Office, both of which can be found in the attached document, to the USG office (Frist 204) by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22. In addition, candidates must submit a photo and candidate statement to http://www.princeton.edu/~usg/elections/register by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Campaigning will take place during the first week after Thanksgiving Break. Voting will last from Monday, December 7 to Wednesday, December 9. Results will be announced on Friday, December 11. If necessary, a run-off election would be held the following week.

Serving on the USG is an excellent way to affect positive change at Princeton. Members also work with outstanding people and gain experience that has benefits well beyond graduation.

Thank you all for your time. We hope you are well.

Best regards,

Alex Rosen, Aditya Panda, and Peter Dunbar
Elections Managers
