Princeton Undergraduate Student Government

Committees

Committees

 About USG Committees:

The seven USG committees aid the USG Senate in serving the Princeton undergraduate student body. Composed of an elected or appointed chair and a group of selected undergraduate students, each committee focuses on a specific area of interest, ranging from academics to sustainability. These committees develop their own policy proposals and programmatic initiatives, which are then presented to and implemented by the Senate at-large. In this way, the committee system helps ensure that USG is able to give equal and specific attention to a variety of different areas of interest and concern.

If you have comments or concerns that could best be routed through one of USG's committees, please reach out to usg@princeton.edu.

The Academics Committee is committed to serving as a liaison between the undergraduate student body and the administration on topics regarding undergraduate academics.

Members also have the opportunity to serve on the faculty-student-administrative Committee on the Course of Study and the Committee on Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid.

Mental Health Committee

About

The Mental Health Committee aims to destigmatize and accommodate mental health, wellness, and well-being - with the primary objective of creating lasting, systemic change. MHC strives to elevate mental health programming and policy work in ways that help make healthcare more inclusive, accommodating, visible, and transparent.

At the individual level, the committee strives to unravel the identities and values that shape subjective mental health experiences, increase transparency about and accessibility of wellness resources, and actively encourage students to explore and embrace the outlets that serve them best. At the institutional level, they advocate for policies that accommodate student wellness, organize dialogues that unpack the role of wellness at the intersection of various aspects of campus life, and work to improve access to services offered by support services such as CPS (UHS) and ODS. The committee is open to all who are committed to improving the climate of wellness at Princeton.

For 2026, MHC is restructuring into two primary teams: the policy, programming, and events team (split into five initiatives) & the campaign team (split into three initiatives). Please access the application for more information about these exciting new initiatives.

Priorities:

  • Inclusivity: First-Year Programming; Identity-Focused Initiatives
  • Accommodation: Academics; CPS Programming
  • Visibility: Wellness Brochure; Wellness Expo
  • Transparency: Active Minds; Ivy Mental Health Conference

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas regarding membership on the USG Mental Health Committee, please contact Committee Chair Aakansh Yerpude (aakansh@princeton.edu).
